Acupuncture Rule Number 3 is Acceptance
It may be a case that in your career you make some serious mistakes but remember in a caring profession it is not deliberate or personal. Sometimes people just don’t know what they are doing they loose themselves, they don’t live in the moment and sometimes in business people will behave badly towards you. And it wasn’t necessarily because they are bad people it is because they were naive and foolish and thought that as humans they could get what they wanted as the rest of us do. It is possible to let go of any feelings of resentment, anger or regret if you choose to do that. As an Acupuncturist accepting that you are a human that bad things can happen to you, you just need to know that that happens and once it is done it is done and you need to get on with things. Avoid using labels good and bad that is a human construct remember animals have no concept of right or wrong. If you let these things get you down they can work away inside you and like some emotional disease they can make you ill and resentful and stuck in your life. When you let them go and you embrace them as character forming then in general you will become more positive rather than negative.
Some of you when you are training may have to come across past childhood issues and some of you may have what you think was a bizarre upbringing, a dysfunctional family, difficulties with friends and colleagues around you and these things can come up in the course of your training because you are surrounded by people who have gone through essentially what you may have been through. It is essential to embrace these bad things and use them as a fuel into the future. Use them as the objects that has shaped you.
I think change occurs in your career when you realise that even if people get in front of you and try to stop you and if people do you wrong then there is still nothing they can do personally to keep you from feeling the way you do about your career. Of course you can shout at them and berate them, you can rant at them, you can belittle them. You could try to perhaps even slander them but that wouldn’t help you accept what is done is done. So there is no going back always forwards make it a moto in life in your career always forward motion.
