Experiencing swelling, clicking or giving way, these are all strong indicators of some knee joint pathology and can occur due to ligament damage, meniscus injuries which or loose body or cartilage floats around within the joints. However knee pain or clicking should never be ignored and the earlier the problem is assessed the better the long outcome is from our care. A lot of athletes and people are fearful of low bearing degenerative disease, however research has shown that actually 70% of knee pain is coming from incorrect muscle strength and also there is a link between joint loading and knee arthritis. So arthritis in other words in the knee can divide from incorrect use in the leg muscles. I myself having divert a knee injury 17 years ago turned to Chinese medicine in the help of Tuina to help and rehabilitate that. And thankfully even though I needed an ACL repair I was able to return to full activity within nine months after my operation which is pretty impressive considering I didn’t have a major budget to spend such as an international athlete would and even though I was competing at a high level. And I do believe that Tui Na gave me the advantage in returning a much faster and much more effectively than standard physiotherapy or other western conventional western medicines approaches.

 

Thankfully it is my experience that pain can be particularly responsive to Tui Na and the majority of complaints can be resolved without in the client without surgical intervention.
