The Rules of Acupuncture
If you are about to become an Acupuncture Practitioner or an Acupuncture player in the world of alternative medicine you are about to discover a career that creates a lot of positivity, happiness and success in everything that you do and not just the therapy. When you start training there is no need to tell any body about it in the beginning just stay quiet there is no need to show off, there is no need to be a smart arse. So the first rule is just keep it under your hat because if you quietly go about doing what you are doing naturally people will want you to share it with them at some stage.
Sometimes it is more interesting when people find out for themselves in other words they ask you directly with no clues. You may think that it is unfair in the beginning because you want to shout it from the rooftops that you are doing Acupuncture that it is fairer for them to find out. Nobody likes to be preached at. It is a bit like when I have in the Clinic people who are giving up smoking and they are going around telling everyone that they have a new healthier way of living and you have to simply convert everybody to stop smoking. The problem is most people are not ready to give up smoking. So, you know you can come across as bit of a smug person.
Acupuncture will allow you to change your life, change your attitude to your life and no need always to go into detail about what you are doing. It is a bit like sometimes when your walking down the street and you meet someone and they ask you how you are and you say fine. That’s all they really want to know, you don’t need to go into every last bit of detail about what is going on in your life and they just expect to hear especially in Ireland ‘We’re Grand’. They just want to be going about their business without any further involvement. If you start unburdening everything that you are doing instantly as soon as you meet someone, they pretty much back off and they start to think of you as a bit of a weirdo.
So first Rule of Studying Acupuncture is nobody really wants to know yet, so keep quiet. Allow the Acupuncture training to seep in and then it will unfold as people approach you naturally
